Disclosure first. QuickEstimate publishes this article, and we sell Quickest Solar CRM, one of the two products compared here. That makes us a biased reviewer. To limit the damage, every TeleCRM fact below comes from TeleCRM's own pages, each linked and read on 31 October 2026. Where its pages say nothing about a solar job, we write "not mentioned on the pages we read" and not "cannot". Both products are judged on the same jobs, TeleCRM's strengths come first, and Quickest's gaps are listed as plainly as its strengths.

If your solar sales team works by phone, TeleCRM is probably on your shortlist. Callers dial leads, a manager watches the numbers, and WhatsApp carries the follow-up. TeleCRM is built for exactly that. Its own home page describes it as a CRM for "Indian sales teams who sell to Indian customers", and its sales CRM page names small businesses, real estate agents, educational institutions and startups. We did not find a solar page on telecrm.in.

So the useful question is not "is TeleCRM good?". It is "where does my solar team actually lose deals: on the phone, or after the site visit?" This guide gives you a short test for that, then compares both tools on each half of the job. It sits alongside our wider solar CRM comparison for India and the earlier LeadSquared comparison, which uses a different method.

Key takeaway. TeleCRM is a calling and WhatsApp CRM: a one-click dialer, call recording, automatic lead distribution and call reports, from ₹799 per user per month billed annually. Its pages do not describe solar quotes or the PM Surya Ghar subsidy. If deals die before the site visit, TeleCRM fits. If they die after it, a solar CRM like Quickest fits.

What TeleCRM does well for a phone-first solar team

TeleCRM is strongest where a solar team spends most of its day: reaching leads by phone, recording what was said, and following up on WhatsApp. These are real strengths, and a solar company with a telecalling floor should weigh them seriously.

  • Calling from the rep's own phone. Its home page says team members call leads one by one from their own phones, with a one-click dialer. A TeleCRM article on SIM-based tracking says there is "no need for extra hardware, VoIP setups or complicated cloud telephony systems".
  • Call recording and tracking. The call tracking page says it tracks incoming, outgoing and missed calls, and missed calls can be assigned to reps as cold leads.
  • Lead intake. Its home page lists website, Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp, IndiaMART, Justdial and other portals, plus CSV import. Its pricing page says "Lead capture from 15+ platforms".
  • Distribution. The features page says you "define distribution logic once" so every caller gets leads on time.
  • WhatsApp. Templates, one-click messages, broadcasts, chatbots and the WhatsApp Cloud API are listed on its mobile CRM page and home page.
  • Call reports. Hour-by-hour call analysis, daily reports and a leaderboard are described on the features page.
  • Simplicity. Its home page FAQ says "Anyone who uses WhatsApp can use telecrm", so callers need little training.

If your problem is a caller who forgets to dial, or a manager who cannot tell who called whom, none of this is a gimmick. Our guide to cold calling for a solar business covers the calling routine itself, and solar lead routing rules covers how to decide who gets which lead, whatever tool you use.

The Two-Desk Test: where do your solar deals actually die?

The Two-Desk Test is the method we use to decide between a calling tool and a solar sales tool. A solar sale has two desks. The calling desk runs from a fresh lead to a booked site visit. The quote desk runs from the site visit to a signed order. Different tools are good at each desk, so you should buy for the desk that leaks.

Run it on your own records in about an hour.

  1. 1

Pull your last 30 lost or stalled deals

Take them from your Excel sheet, your CRM or your reps' phones. Include leads that simply went quiet, not only the ones that said no.

  2. 2

Mark the desk where each one died

Calling desk: never reached, never called back, no visit booked. Quote desk: visit done, but the quote was late, wrong, unbranded or never followed up.

  3. 3

    Count each desk

Write the two numbers down. A deal that fits both goes to the earlier desk, since the quote never mattered if the visit never happened.

  4. 4

    Apply the rule of thumb

If about two thirds or more died at the calling desk, start with a calling tool. If about two thirds or more died at the quote desk, start with a solar CRM. If it is closer to even, run both for a month. This is our own rule of thumb, not an industry benchmark.

  5. 5

Check the handoff between the desks

Even a clean split needs a rule for what the caller passes to the field rep. A later section gives a handoff card.

Fast tip. Do the count with your reps in the room. Callers tend to blame lead quality and field reps tend to blame callers, and the notes on each lost deal usually settle it.

Our guide to qualifying solar leads and the follow-up cadence help you tell a poor lead from a poorly handled one before you decide the calling desk is the problem.

Desk one: the calling desk, from lead to booked site visit

On the calling desk TeleCRM is the stronger tool by a clear margin, and Quickest does not try to compete. The table scores both products on the same seven jobs. TeleCRM facts link to the page they come from, and Quickest facts stay inside what we can confirm about the product.

1. Getting leads inWebsite, Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp, IndiaMART, Justdial and other portals, plus CSV import, per its home page. Its pricing page says 15+ platforms. You add leads by hand and bulk import them from Excel. We do not claim portal or ad connectors.TeleCRM, clearly, if leads arrive from portals and ads.
2. Splitting leads between callersAutomatic distribution with logic you define once, per its features page.Team members with permissions, and lead filters. We do not claim automatic assignment.TeleCRM, for a team that gets leads faster than a manager can hand them out.
3. Making the callA one-click dialer; calls placed from the rep's own phone, per its home page. You log activities on a lead, and on several leads at once. We do not claim a dialer.TeleCRM.
4. Recording callsRecords incoming and outgoing calls except personal SIM calls, per its call tracking page. Its help pages add device conditions, covered below. Not offered. We do not claim call recording.TeleCRM, if the handsets pass your test.
5. Follow-up remindersScheduled callbacks with notifications, per its features page.Customisable lead stages, labels and follow-up reminders.Tie for reminders. TeleCRM adds calling around them.
6. WhatsAppTemplates, one-click messages, broadcasts, chatbots, and scheduled messages through the WhatsApp Cloud API. Its scheduling guide lists setup steps and prerequisites. The proposal PDF is shared on WhatsApp from the app, with saved message templates. We do not claim broadcasts or scheduled sends.TeleCRM for messaging many leads. Quickest for one rep sending one quote.
7. Team call reportCall reports with hour-by-hour analysis and a leaderboard, per its home page and features page.A dashboard and a team report. We do not claim call analytics.TeleCRM, for managing a calling floor.

The pattern is simple. On this desk, Quickest is a place to keep leads and reminders, and TeleCRM is a working calling tool. If your last 30 lost deals mostly died here, stop reading and book a TeleCRM demo, or look at a similar calling-first product.

Desk two: the quote desk, from site visit to signed order

The quote desk is where the comparison turns. A solar rep standing on a roof needs a quote with the right system size, the product photos, the terms and the PM Surya Ghar subsidy, and needs it before the customer calls a competitor. The table applies the same test to the second half of the job.

8. Stages that match solarA custom sales pipeline, per its home page. The pages we read do not name the stages.Customisable lead stages. You name them to match survey, quotation, subsidy, net metering and installation.Tie. Both let you rename stages.
9. A quote made on the roof, on a phoneQuotations are not mentioned on its mobile CRM page. Its app is described for leads, calls and follow-ups.You make estimates on the mobile app (Android, iOS and web).Quickest.
10. A branded proposal PDFQuotations, proposals and documents are not mentioned on the features page or the sales CRM page.Proposal templates with your logo, items, product photos and terms and conditions. The PDF goes out on WhatsApp.Quickest. TeleCRM may do it with custom work, so ask.
11. PM Surya Ghar subsidy in the quoteNot mentioned on the pages we read. The subsidy is applied in the proposal.Quickest.
12. One price list with marginA price list and products are not mentioned on the pages we read.An admin-set price list with margin, as on the solar pricing calculator page.Quickest.
13. Tracking money owedThe features page says you can "create opportunities with pending payments" and get WhatsApp alerts for pending or failed payments. Not offered. We do not claim payment tracking or payment links.TeleCRM.

Rows 10 to 12 decide most solar buyers who lose deals after the visit. They are the jobs a rep does with a customer in front of them, and none is described on the TeleCRM pages we read. Row 13 is TeleCRM's: it is a real advantage for an owner who chases balance payments, and Quickest does not claim an answer.

Note. "Not mentioned on the pages we read" is not the same as "cannot". It means we found no statement. TeleCRM has custom fields and an API, so a consultant may build it. That is the point of the test: it is work someone must scope, quote and maintain, and it belongs in your cost.

What to test on your own phones before you trust a calling tool

A call recording feature is only as good as the handset it runs on, and TeleCRM's own help pages say so. The call tracking page says recording depends on the device's built-in call recording support, and its SIM-based tracking article says available call details vary with device permissions and whether the phone supports recording.

On non-Samsung Android phones the conditions are specific. TeleCRM's help article says Google Dialer restricts third-party apps from reading its recordings, so a named dialer app must be installed and set as the default. If that app is incompatible with the phone, it says "there is no workaround for this case". It also says Wi-Fi Calling can stop recordings being created properly.

None of this makes TeleCRM a bad tool. Every SIM-based calling product depends on what the phone allows. It does mean your demo should use the real handsets your callers carry, not the vendor's test phone.

Watch out. Recording customer calls touches their personal data. Tell people at the start of the call, keep recordings only as long as you need them, and ask your lawyer about consent. Our short note on the DPDP Act explains the basics. This is not legal advice.

WhatsApp has its own homework. TeleCRM's scheduling guide, updated 16 September 2026 per the page, says you need a number never used on WhatsApp before, a business GSTIN, a verified Facebook Business Manager ID and a card for payment, and calls the official scheduling route "a paid feature". That is normal for the WhatsApp Cloud API, and our guide to WhatsApp Business API for solar explains what it involves. Quickest takes a lighter route: a rep shares the proposal PDF from the app, with a saved message template.

Price and extras, side by side

TeleCRM publishes rupee prices, which makes this comparison easier than most. The table lists what each page says and what it leaves out.

An illustrative licence sum for a six-person team

This is an illustration, not a quote. Assumptions: 3 callers and 3 field reps, one year, licence only, TeleCRM billed annually at ₹799 a month (₹9,588 a year), no GST, no Chat Sync, no WhatsApp setup and no setup work on either side. TeleCRM's 3-user minimum is met in both setups that use it.

SetupWorkingPer yearWhat you get
A. All six on TeleCRM₹9,588 x 6 users₹57,528Calling and recording for everyone. No solar quote described.
B. All six on Quickest Pro₹6,999 x 6 users₹41,994Quote, subsidy and price list for everyone. No dialer, no recording.
C. Callers on TeleCRM, reps on Quickest₹9,588 x 3 + ₹6,999 x 3 = ₹28,764 + ₹20,997₹49,761Each desk gets its own tool. You run a handoff between them.

₹ math. Add TeleCRM's optional extras to setups A and C and the totals move. Chat Sync is ₹200 x 12 = ₹2,400 per user, so ₹14,400 for six users in A or ₹7,200 for three callers in C, plus a one-time ₹1,999 for WhatsApp API setup. Then add the build or handoff work on either side. Compare total year-one cost, not the price tag.

Setup B is the cheapest only because it leaves out calling. Do not read the table as "Quickest is cheaper". Read it as "which jobs are inside each price". A calling floor that needs a dialer and recordings is not buying the same thing when it pays ₹6,999.

Five reasons to look for a TeleCRM alternative

Anyone typing "telecrm alternative" has a specific problem in mind. Here are five that a solar team could have, and whether Quickest answers each one.

  1. "My reps can send a call log but not a quote." Quickest answers this: proposals with your logo, items, photos and terms, with the subsidy applied, made on a phone.
  2. "Our proposals still live in Excel and Word." Quickest answers this, through proposal templates and an admin-set price list with margin. Our Excel to solar CRM guide covers the move.
  3. "Recording does not work on some of our phones." Quickest does not answer this. We do not claim call recording, so a switch would remove the feature, not fix it. Ask TeleCRM support, and test other handsets, before you decide.
  4. "WhatsApp setup was heavy." Partly. Quickest shares the proposal PDF on WhatsApp from the app and keeps saved templates, which is simpler. It does not do broadcasts or scheduled sends.
  5. "We only need leads, reminders and quotes, not a dialer." Quickest fits this. It has a Free plan with 1 user and 10 proposals a month, and Pro at ₹6,999 per user per year with a 3-user minimum.

Which one is better for you

The honest answer depends on the desk that leaks, so here are the conditional verdicts we would give a friend.

TeleCRM is better for you if

  • ✓Most leads arrive from portals or ads and must be called fast
  • ✓You run a telecalling floor and want recordings and call reports
  • ✓You message many leads on WhatsApp and will set up the Cloud API
  • ✓Your quotes are made at the office, in another tool you are happy with
  • ✓You want to track pending payments inside the CRM

Quickest is better for you if

  • ✓Your deals die between the site visit and the quote
  • ✓Reps should send a branded proposal with the subsidy from a phone
  • ✓You want one price list with margin that every rep quotes from
  • ✓Your team is mostly field reps, with few or no callers
  • ✓You want to start on a free plan before paying

Verdict

Deals lost before the site visit, choose a calling tool such as TeleCRM. Deals lost after it, choose a solar-built CRM. Both leaks, run one tool per desk with a written handoff, and test for a month. We make Quickest, so weigh this verdict accordingly and test every claim in a trial.

Running both: the handoff card between the desks

A split setup works only if the calling desk hands over a complete card. When a caller books a visit, the field rep should not have to call the customer again to ask the roof type. We do not claim an integration between TeleCRM and Quickest, so the card travels by WhatsApp message or a shared sheet.

Card fieldWhat the caller writesWhy the rep needs it
CustomerName, phone, WhatsApp number, address with PIN codeThe rep can navigate and address the customer correctly.
EnergyMonthly bill amount, DISCOM name, sanctioned load if knownThe rep arrives with a size in mind and a subsidy check ready.
RoofOwned or rented, type of roof, free area if the customer knowsAvoids a wasted visit to a rented flat.
IntentWhy they want solar, subsidy interest, who decidesTells the rep who must be present at the visit.
VisitConfirmed date and time slot, and the caller's nameThe visit is a promise, not a hope.
Call notesOne line on objections raised, and a link to the recording if you have oneThe rep does not repeat the same pitch.

Decide which system is the record for each customer. A common rule is: the calling tool owns the lead until a visit is booked, and the solar CRM owns it from that moment. Our guide to solar lead management in India covers the wider routine.

If your team is small enough that callers and field reps are the same people, skip the split. One tool is simpler, and the Two-Desk Test usually points to the quote desk. A general CRM such as Zoho has the same trade-off, and we have a dated comparison with Zoho CRM.

Moving from TeleCRM to Quickest

Switching is mostly a data and habit job. Ask TeleCRM how to export your leads to a spreadsheet. Clean the columns, then bring the open leads into Quickest with bulk Excel import. Our guide to moving from Excel to a solar CRM shows a column layout that imports cleanly, and the CRM onboarding guide covers getting reps to use it.

Do not move closed and dead leads on day one. Import only live deals, keep the old system read-only for a month, and set a date after which nobody opens it. Before you cancel a calling tool, plan the manual substitute for what Quickest does not do:

  • Calls: your phone's dialer, with the outcome logged as an activity on the lead.
  • Recording: none, unless you keep a separate recording app and a written policy.
  • Lead distribution: a manager or a written rule, with the owner set by a person.
  • Bulk WhatsApp: your existing WhatsApp tool, if you use one.

If you are unsure what a solar CRM should do at all, start with what a solar CRM is, or use our scorecard for choosing a solar CRM.

How QuickEstimate fits

Quickest Solar CRM is built for the part of the week that happens after the lead is yours: the site visit, the quote, the subsidy and the follow-up on WhatsApp. If that is where your deals go cold, the comparison pages set it against the alternatives with dated sources, and a 15-minute demo lets you put your own roof size and price list in front of it.

We do not claim that Quickest replaces TeleCRM's dialer, call recording or lead distribution. If those are your needs, say so on the demo call and we will tell you plainly whether Quickest is the right tool.

What to do this week

  1. Run the Two-Desk Test on your last 30 lost deals and write down the two counts.
  2. If the calling desk leaks, book a TeleCRM demo and test recording on your callers' own phones. If the quote desk leaks, put one real site visit through Quickest from roof to proposal on the demo.
  3. Get written answers from each vendor on price with GST, extras and setup, and who builds what. Then choose on total year-one cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TeleCRM good for solar companies in India?

It is good at phone work: a one-click dialer, call recording, automatic lead distribution, WhatsApp through the Cloud API and call reports, all described on its own pages. It is a general sales CRM, and the pages we read do not mention quotations, proposals or the PM Surya Ghar subsidy. So it suits the calling side of a solar team and leaves the quote to another tool. Checked 31 October 2026.

How much does TeleCRM cost?

Its pricing page lists a Core CRM plan at ₹799 per user per month billed annually, or ₹1,099 per user per month billed quarterly. Chat Sync is ₹200 per user per month, the WhatsApp API setup is a one-time ₹1,999, and extra automations beyond 10,000 a month are charged. It shows a minimum of 3 users and does not say whether GST is added. Checked 31 October 2026.

Does TeleCRM make solar quotations or proposals?

We found no mention of quotations, proposals, documents or product catalogues on the TeleCRM pages we read. That is not proof it cannot be done, because it supports custom fields and an API. Ask TeleCRM to show a real solar quote with a bill of materials and the subsidy before you rely on it for that job.

Does TeleCRM record calls on every phone?

Its pages say every call is recorded except personal SIM calls, but its own help pages add device conditions. Recording depends on the phone supporting call recording, and on some non-Samsung phones a specific dialer app must be the default. Test it on the exact handsets your callers use before you sign. Checked 31 October 2026.

Can Quickest Solar CRM replace TeleCRM for my telecallers?

Not on the pages and features we can stand behind. Quickest does not claim a dialer, call recording, automatic lead distribution or WhatsApp broadcasts. It lets you log activities on a lead, set follow-up reminders and share the proposal PDF on WhatsApp. If calling is your main job, keep a calling tool.

What is a good TeleCRM alternative for a solar installer?

It depends on where your deals are lost. If they are lost before the site visit, look at other calling and lead tools, such as LeadSquared. If they are lost after the visit, look at a solar CRM with proposals, subsidy and a price list, such as Quickest. Use the Two-Desk Test in this article on your last 30 lost deals to decide.

Can I use TeleCRM and Quickest together?

Yes, you can run both, with callers on TeleCRM and field reps on Quickest. We do not claim an integration between them, so plan a handoff by WhatsApp message or Excel and decide which system holds the master record. For teams under about six people one tool is usually simpler.

How do I move my leads from TeleCRM to Quickest?

Ask TeleCRM how to export your leads to a spreadsheet, clean the columns, and bulk import only the open leads into Quickest from Excel. Keep the old system read-only for a month. Run a one-week test on 15 real leads first so you know which tool wins before moving anything.

Is this comparison independent?

No. QuickEstimate publishes it and sells Quickest Solar CRM. We used only TeleCRM's own pages for TeleCRM facts, linked each one, and said where its pages were silent. They were read on 31 October 2026. Prices and features change, so confirm everything on TeleCRM's pages and in a trial.

Want to put this into practice?
