Electrical CEIG Drawings for Solar
CEIG-compliant electrical drawings for net metering and gross metering systems — single line diagrams, cable layouts, earthing drawings and the approval documentation that goes with them.
What Are Electrical CEIG Drawings?
CEIG drawings are the electrical documentation prepared so a solar installation can be approved by the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government, or the equivalent authority, before it is energised. In India they are what stands between a physically complete plant and one that is legally allowed to export.
The inspector is checking a specific thing: that the system is safe to connect, correctly protected and correctly earthed. So the drawing set has to show the whole electrical path — string through inverter through protection through metering to the connection point — with the equipment ratings and calculations that justify each step.
Drawings cover both net metering and gross metering systems. Comment-driven revisions are treated as part of a normal approval workflow, and CEIG sheets are often delivered inside a broader rooftop or ground-mount engineering package.
What we need from you
- 2D layout showing panel placement and roof dimensions
- Panel details — brand, wattage and quantity
- Inverter details — brand, rating and configuration
- Meter type for net or gross metering, and cable type
- DG set and transformer ratings, where applicable
Tools used
What's Included
Every item below is a documented part of the Electrical CEIG Drawings scope.
Single Line Diagram (SLD)
The complete electrical single line diagram showing panel strings, inverters, meters and grid connection points.
Cable Layout Drawing
Detailed cable routing with cable sizing, conduit paths and junction box placement.
Earthing Layout
Earthing and bonding diagram to IS standards, covering the GI strip or copper cable earthing network.
Equipment Schedule
Bill of materials listing every electrical component with make, model and technical rating.
CEIG Approval Set
Drawings prepared for submission to CEIG or the DISCOM for net metering or gross metering approval.
Load Calculations
Load flow and short circuit calculations supporting the CEIG drawing submission.

Who CEIG Drawings Are For
Solar EPCs
Get approval documentation prepared correctly the first time, on every project in the queue.
Solar Installers
Hand the DISCOM a drawing set that answers its questions instead of collecting comments.
Commercial Solar Companies
Handle HT connections, DG interlocks and transformer-side detail on larger C&I systems.
Engineering Teams
Offload approval drafting while your engineers keep sign-off.
Why The Drawing Set Decides The Timeline
Energisation Is The Bottleneck
A finished plant that cannot export earns nothing. Approval documentation is what moves that date.
Earthing To IS Standards
Earthing and bonding drawn to standard, which is one of the first things an inspector checks.
Calculations Attached
Load flow and short circuit calculations submitted alongside the drawings, so the set supports itself.
Revisions Are Expected
Comment-driven revisions handled within the agreed scope as a normal part of the approval workflow.
