Disclosure first. QuickEstimate publishes this article, and we sell Quickest Solar CRM, one of the two products compared here. That makes us a biased reviewer. To limit the damage, every LeadSquared fact below comes from LeadSquared's own pages, each linked and read on 31 October 2026. Where its pages say nothing about a solar job, we write "not described on the pages we read" instead of assuming it cannot do it. Both products are scored on the same eleven jobs, and we list LeadSquared's strengths before ours.

If you own an Indian solar company and a LeadSquared sales rep has sent you a proposal, you are probably asking one question: will it work for rooftop solar, or will we spend three months teaching a general CRM what a kilowatt is? LeadSquared is a large, well-built CRM that is not sold as a solar product. Its own CRM page lists financial services, manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, education, real estate and agriculture among its industries. Solar is not on that list, although at least one Indian solar company uses it, as covered below.

This guide separates what LeadSquared gives you from what you would have to build, using a simple ledger. It sits alongside our wider solar CRM comparison for India and the demo scorecard for choosing a solar CRM.

Key takeaway. LeadSquared fits an Indian solar company that wins or loses on lead volume: it has connectors for IndiaMART and Meta lead forms, rule-based lead distribution, click-to-call and a field app with location tracking. Its pages list quote creation but do not describe a solar quote, the PM Surya Ghar subsidy or a price list, so plan to build those. Quickest has those built in, but we do not claim its volume tools.

Where LeadSquared is genuinely strong for a solar company

LeadSquared is strongest at the front of the funnel: capturing leads, deciding who gets each one, and getting a person on the phone quickly. That is a real strength, and for some solar companies it is the main problem.

SolarSquare, an Indian residential solar company, has a published case study with LeadSquared. It quotes its product manager saying the launch of its B2C business led to "a tenfold increase in leads" and that it manages "5 lakh leads" on the platform. It is a case study published by the vendor, so read it as a claim by LeadSquared and SolarSquare, not as an independent result. The use it describes is lead capture, distribution, scoring by criteria such as electricity consumption and region, and reporting.

Four things on LeadSquared's own pages stand out for solar:

  • Lead intake. The IndiaMART connector and the Facebook and Instagram lead ads connector pull leads in without CSV downloads.
  • Distribution. Its lead distribution page describes routing by location, product interest and source, round robin, capping how many leads one rep can hold, and limits for off-days and shift hours.
  • Calling and field work. Click-to-call with call metrics, and a mobile app with location updates, route planning and attendance.
  • Depth. Custom fields, opportunity types, no-code workflows and an API framework, if you have someone to run them.

If your team is a telecalling floor that works 200 portal leads a week, none of this is a gimmick. It is what that floor needs. Our guide to solar lead routing rules explains how to write the rules whichever tool you pick.

The Gap Ledger: eleven solar jobs, and who does the work

The Gap Ledger is the one method we use to compare any general CRM with a solar one. List the jobs your team actually does. For each job, mark who does the work: the product (its own page describes it), your admin (the product offers parts you assemble), or nobody yet (not described, so someone builds or buys it). Then price the second and third groups before you compare licence fees.

The table applies the same test to both products. Each LeadSquared feature we describe links to the page it comes from. The last column says who it suits, and where the answer is not "us" we have said so.

1. Your stagesDefault lead stages are Prospect, Opportunity and Customer, and you can add your own. Opportunity stages sit under fixed Open, Won and Lost statuses that an administrator creates and orders.Lead stages are customisable. You name them to match survey, quotation, subsidy, net metering and installation.Tie. LeadSquared has more structure, Quickest is quicker to set up.
2. Leads from portals and adsAn IndiaMART connector and a Facebook and Instagram lead ads connector exist. Both are paid features switched on through your account manager. IndiaMART leads are pulled every 3 hours by default. You add leads by hand and bulk import them from Excel. This article does not claim portal or ad connectors for Quickest.LeadSquared, clearly, if most of your leads arrive from IndiaMART or Meta forms.
3. Splitting leads between repsRules by location, product interest, source and agent seniority, plus round robin and capping, are described on its lead distribution page. The admin sets the criteria.Team members with permissions, and lead filters. We do not claim rule-based auto-assignment here.LeadSquared, for a team that gets leads faster than a manager can hand them out.
4. Phone workClick-to-call with call metrics is listed on its CRM page. You log activities on a lead, and on several leads at once. We do not claim a calling feature.LeadSquared, for a telecalling floor.
5. WhatsAppThrough a WhatsApp connector: you get your number from a WhatsApp solution provider, templates need approval (its page says about 24 to 48 hours) and costs vary by country and message type. The CRM page also lists bulk campaigns. The proposal PDF is shared on WhatsApp from the app, with saved message templates and follow-up reminders. We do not claim bulk campaigns or automatic sends.LeadSquared for campaigns to a big list. Quickest for one rep sending one quote from a phone.
6. Field team on mobileA mobile app with location updates, route planning and attendance, which it says works in low or no network areas. Its pricing page shows an offline option and geo-fencing on Sales Super only. You make estimates on the mobile app (Android, iOS and web). We do not claim GPS check-in or offline use.LeadSquared if you need to see where reps are. Quickest if the job is the estimate at the roof.
7. A quote PDF with logo, items and termsIts pricing page lists "Quote Creation and Management" on both Sales plans, but we found no page that says what a quote looks like or whether it carries a solar bill of materials. Document Designer builds PDF templates: an admin sets it up with fields and a webhook automation, and its examples are application forms and fee receipts. That page does not mention quotations.Proposal templates with your logo, items, product photos and terms and conditions. The PDF goes out on WhatsApp.Quickest for a ready solar quote. LeadSquared if you need many document types and have admin skill, and ask it to show its quote tool on a solar bill of materials.
8. PM Surya Ghar subsidy in the quoteNot described on the pages we read. The subsidy is applied in the proposal.Quickest. LeadSquared may do it with custom work, so ask.
9. Price list and marginNot described on the pages we read.An admin-set price list with margin, as on the solar pricing calculator page.Quickest.
10. ReportsDashboards, call, closure and revenue reports are listed on the CRM page. Custom reports are limited per user: 2 on Sales Pro and 5 on Sales Super, per its pricing page.A dashboard and a team report.LeadSquared for custom reporting. Quickest for an owner who wants one screen.
11. Automation and APINo-code workflows, webhooks (3 on Sales Pro, 30 on Sales Super) and an API framework, per its pricing page.Customisable stages, labels and follow-up reminders. We do not claim an API or workflow builder.LeadSquared, if you have someone to build and maintain automations.

Two rows decide most solar buyers: row 8 and row 9. They are the jobs a solar sales rep does after a site visit, and neither is described on the LeadSquared pages we read. Rows 2 to 4 decide the other kind of buyer, and there the advantage is LeadSquared's.

Note. "Not described on the pages we read" is not the same as "cannot." It means we found no statement, and a LeadSquared consultant may well build it. That is exactly the point of the ledger: it is work someone must scope, quote and maintain.

What you build yourself on LeadSquared

Four jobs sit with you or a LeadSquared partner in the ledger: your stage design, the solar quote layout, the subsidy calculation and the price list. Each is doable, and none is free.

  1. 1

Design the solar stages and fields

Default lead stages are Prospect, Opportunity and Customer. You add survey, quote sent, subsidy, DISCOM and installation, plus fields for kW, roof type, bill amount and DISCOM. An administrator does this in settings.

  2. 2

    Build the quotation template

The pricing page lists quote creation, but the only PDF-template tool we found documented is Document Designer. It needs an admin, two extra fields and a webhook automation, and it is a paid feature for customers in India and the USA. Its documented examples are application forms and fee receipts, so test a real bill of materials before you commit.

  3. 3

Decide where the subsidy is calculated

Either a custom calculation inside the CRM or a separate sheet the rep opens. Subsidy rules change, so someone owns updating it. Confirm the current figures on the scheme's national portal, whichever route you take.

  4. 4

Keep one source for prices and margins

Panel and inverter rates move. If reps quote from a price sheet outside the CRM, you need a rule for who updates it and when. Without one, a quote built on an old rate costs you margin.

The cost of this is not in the licence. It is in the weeks before your reps trust the setup, and in the person who keeps it working. LeadSquared's own support page says web and email support come with the Pro-level plans and phone support with the Super plans, and that premium support is billed on top. Ask what a partner would charge for the four jobs above, and get the answer in writing.

What you build yourself on Quickest

Quickest's gaps are the mirror image of LeadSquared's strengths, and you should weigh them just as hard.

Quickest's confirmed feature list does not include the volume tools, so this article does not claim portal or ad connectors, rule-based auto-assignment, calling, GPS check-in, an offline option, an API or a workflow builder. If you rely on any of those today, plan the manual substitute before you switch:

  • Portal and ad leads: a daily export or copy from each source, then bulk import from Excel or a manual add.
  • Assignment: a manager or a simple written rule, with the lead owner set by a person.
  • Calling: your existing phone or dialer, with the call outcome logged as an activity on the lead.
  • Field tracking: a daily WhatsApp or call check-in from the rep, as most teams do now.

For example, for a team of six working 40 leads a week, that is a small chore. For a floor of 25 callers working hundreds of leads, it is the reason to stay on LeadSquared.

Watch out. Do not buy a CRM for the one bad week you remember. Look at where leads were actually lost in the last quarter: before the first call, or between the site visit and the quote.

Side by side: price, support and paperwork

The second table covers the things a feature list leaves out. Dollar figures for LeadSquared are exactly as its page prints them, and the page gives no rupee price.

An illustrative licence sum for 5 users

This is an illustration, not a quote. Assumptions: 5 users, one year, licence only, an exchange rate of ₹90 per dollar that you should replace with the day's rate, and no GST, add-ons, connectors or setup work.

LineWorkingPer year
LeadSquared Sales Pro$60 x 5 users x 12 months = $3,600, at ₹90₹3,24,000
LeadSquared Sales Super$100 x 5 x 12 = $6,000, at ₹90₹5,40,000
Market range printed on LeadSquared's CRM pageINR 800 to INR 5,000 per user per month for CRMs in general, from the FAQ on its CRM page, which is not a LeadSquared price: 800 x 5 x 12 and 5,000 x 5 x 12₹48,000 to ₹3,00,000
Quickest Pro₹6,999 x 5 users₹34,995

The range is wide because LeadSquared's page does not publish a rupee price for the Sales plans, so ask for an India quote in rupees, with GST and every add-on you need written out. Then add the Gap Ledger work to each side. A cheaper licence plus a long build is not cheaper. An expensive licence that already does your lead intake may be.

₹ math. Quickest Pro for 3 users is ₹6,999 x 3 = ₹20,997 a year. Suppose a LeadSquared partner quotes you ₹1,00,000 to build the four jobs above, that is the build cost, whatever the licence turns out to be. Compare total year-one cost, not the price tag.

Which one is better for you

The honest answer depends on where your sales leak, so here are the conditional verdicts we would give a friend.

LeadSquared is better for you if

  • ✓Most leads arrive from IndiaMART or Meta forms and must land and be split automatically
  • ✓You run a telecalling floor and want call metrics
  • ✓You need to see where field reps are during the day
  • ✓You have, or will pay for, someone to configure and maintain it
  • ✓You sell other products too and want one CRM across them

Quickest is better for you if

  • ✓Your leaks are between the site visit and the quote
  • ✓Reps should send a branded proposal with the subsidy from a phone
  • ✓You want one price list with margin that every rep quotes from
  • ✓You have no admin to configure a CRM, and 3 users is enough to start
  • ✓You want to start on a free plan before paying

Verdict

Lead volume problem, choose LeadSquared. Quote speed and subsidy problem, choose a solar-built CRM. Both problems, run a pilot before you buy either. We make Quickest, so weigh this verdict accordingly and test the claims in a trial.

A mixed setup is possible: LeadSquared for intake and calling, Quickest for the quote. We do not claim any integration between the two, so expect re-typing or an Excel step between them, and decide which system is the record for each customer. If you do not want two tools, a general CRM such as Zoho has the same trade-off, and we have a dated comparison with Zoho CRM.

Run a two-week test before you sign anything

A demo shows the best day. A test on your own leads shows the real one. Ask both vendors to let you try your own work.

  1. 1

Pick 15 real leads from last month

Include five that went cold after the site visit and five that came from a portal. Use the same 15 in both tools.

  2. 2

    Time the lead-to-first-call path

From the moment a portal lead exists to the rep seeing it with an owner on it. Count how many human steps sit in between.

  3. 3

    Time the site-visit-to-proposal path

A rep, on a phone, with a 5 kW roof, produces a branded quote with the subsidy shown. Note the minutes, and who had to help.

  4. 4

Change something, then count who you needed

Rename a stage, add a line item to the quote, update one panel rate. Can the owner do it alone, or does it need a consultant?

  5. 5

Score each job in the Gap Ledger

Mark each of the eleven jobs as done by the product, done by your admin, or not done. Price the last two groups.

Ask LeadSquared's sales team, in writing, for the following before you sign: the rupee price per user for the plan you need, with GST; which connectors and add-ons are included and which are extra; the one-time setup or implementation charge, if any; who builds the quote template and subsidy calculation and what it costs; whether phone support comes with your plan; and how you export your data if you leave. Ask us the same questions about Quickest at the demo. The same list works for any vendor.

Moving from LeadSquared to Quickest, or the other way round

Switching is mostly a data and habit job. Ask LeadSquared how to export your leads to a spreadsheet. Clean the columns, then bring the open leads into Quickest with bulk Excel import. Our guide to moving from Excel to a solar CRM shows a column layout that imports cleanly, and the CRM onboarding guide covers getting reps to use it.

Do not move closed and dead leads on day one. Import only live deals, keep the old system read-only for a month, and set a date after which nobody opens it. The opposite move, from a quote tool into LeadSquared, follows the same plan. If you are unsure what a solar CRM should do at all, start with what a solar CRM is, or read our list of solar CRM software in India.

How QuickEstimate fits

Quickest Solar CRM is built for the part of the week that happens after the lead is yours: the site visit, the quote, the subsidy and the follow-up on WhatsApp. If that is where your deals go cold, the comparison pages set it against the alternatives with dated sources, and a 15-minute demo lets you put your own roof size and price list in front of it.

We do not claim that Quickest replaces LeadSquared's lead intake, calling or field tracking. If those are your needs, say so on the demo call and we will tell you plainly whether Quickest is the right tool.

What to do this week

  1. List your last 30 lost or cold leads and mark where each stalled: before the first call, or after the site visit.
  2. Fill in the Gap Ledger table with your own eleven jobs and add anything we missed, such as DISCOM paperwork.
  3. Get a rupee quote with GST from LeadSquared, a written scope for the four build jobs, and a Quickest demo on the same lead. Decide on total year-one cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LeadSquared good for solar companies in India?

It is good at lead capture, lead distribution, calling and field tracking, and an Indian solar company, SolarSquare, has a vendor-published case study on it. It is a general CRM, though: solar is not on its listed industries, and while its pricing page lists quote creation, a solar quote layout, the PM Surya Ghar subsidy and a price list are not described on the pages we read. Expect to configure or build them. Checked 31 October 2026.

How much does LeadSquared cost for a solar company?

Its sales pricing page lists Sales Pro at $60 and Sales Super at $100 per user per month, billed annually, with no rupee price shown. Its CRM page FAQ says CRMs in general may cost INR 800 to INR 5,000 per user per month, which is a market range, not its own price. Ask for an India quote in rupees with GST, add-ons and setup charges, because connectors and some features are sold separately. Checked 31 October 2026.

Does LeadSquared calculate the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?

We found no mention of it on the LeadSquared pages we read. That does not prove it cannot be done, because the platform supports custom fields and automations. Ask LeadSquared or a partner to show a working subsidy calculation on a real quote, and who will update it when the scheme changes. Confirm the current figures on the scheme's national portal.

Can LeadSquared pull leads from IndiaMART and Facebook ads?

Yes. LeadSquared has an IndiaMART connector and a Facebook and Instagram lead ads connector. Its help pages describe both as paid features that you enable through your account manager. The IndiaMART connector pulls leads every 3 hours by default, and the Facebook one needs an active form less than 90 days old. Checked 31 October 2026.

Does LeadSquared have a mobile app for field sales?

Yes. Its mobile page describes an app on Google Play and the App Store with location updates, route planning, attendance and use in low or no network areas. Its pricing page shows an offline option and geo-fencing on Sales Super only, so check which of these your plan includes. Quickest lets reps make estimates on mobile (Android, iOS and web) but does not claim GPS check-in.

Can LeadSquared send WhatsApp messages?

Yes, through a WhatsApp connector. You get a business number through a WhatsApp solution provider, submit message templates for approval, which its page says takes about 24 to 48 hours, and pay costs that vary by message type. Quickest shares the proposal PDF on WhatsApp from the app and keeps saved message templates, but does not claim bulk campaigns.

Can I use LeadSquared and Quickest together?

You can run both, for example LeadSquared for lead intake and Quickest for the proposal. We do not claim an integration between them, so plan a manual or Excel step and decide which system holds the master record for each customer. For most teams under ten people, one tool is simpler.

How do I move my leads from LeadSquared to Quickest?

Ask LeadSquared how to export your leads to a spreadsheet, clean the columns, and import only open leads into Quickest with bulk Excel import. Keep the old system read-only for a month. Run a two-week pilot on 15 real leads first, so you know which tool wins before you move anything.

Is this comparison independent?

No. QuickEstimate publishes this article and sells Quickest Solar CRM. We used only LeadSquared's own pages for LeadSquared facts, linked each one with a checked-on date of 31 October 2026, and said where its pages were silent. Prices and features change, so confirm everything on LeadSquared's pages and in a trial.
